Jim Fister spent over three decades patiently explaining the way things worked to impatient people across the server and networking industry. He's on this site to tell a few stories, comment on what's happening today, relate how technology interacts with the real world, and do a few segfaults on how innovation breaks the business reality.

Jim lives in the mountains of Oregon, where he volunteers for pretty much everything, runs an art gallery, and kicks dirt clods while hiking with his adorable wife and dogs. His pop culture references dried out somewhere in the early '00s, so forgive him if he seems like he'd like you to get off his lawn.
